Bar strainer — What is it?
A bar strainer, also known as a strainer, is a tool used when mixing cocktails. It is held over the cocktail shaker or mixing glass to retain ice cubes, fruit pieces or other solid ingredients while the cocktail is poured into a glass. There are different types of bar strainers, including Hawthorne strainers, Julep strainers and fine tea strainers, each suited for different purposes and cocktail styles.
