Immersion blender – What is it?

An immersion blender, also known as a wand blender, hand blender or stick mixer, is a handheld kitchen appliance used for blending, pureeing and chopping ingredients. It consists of a handle with a built-in motor and sharp blades at the bottom end that can be immersed in a variety of containers such as pots, bowls or glasses. Immersion blenders are handy for making soups, sauces, smoothies, baby food and other recipes where ingredients need to be quickly and easily blended or pureed. They are compact, easy to use and easy to clean.
