A waiter’s corkscrew, also known as a sommelier knife or waiter’s friend, is a tool used by waitstaff and hospitality professionals to open and serve wine bottles. It typically consists of several functions, including:
1. A corkscrew: The corkscrew allows you to pull the cork out of the wine bottle by screwing it into the cork and then pulling it out.
2. A foil cutter: A small knife or blade used to cut away the aluminium or plastic foil around the neck of the bottle before the corkscrew is used.
3. A bottle opener: A small lever or lip used to remove crown caps from beer bottles or other beverages.
