So why don’t they come to the company party? Some of them have been there before and have seen first-hand what they’re missing. Upon closer inspection, they’re often those who nurture social connections and have interests outside of work. So what keeps these colleagues from joining team celebrations?
The answer is simple.
They care about: They don’t want to talk about work after hours. They value a balanced work-life balance. That’s the equilibrium between work and leisure. Though leisure doesn’t quite capture what matters most in their lives. It’s sports, hobbies, and volunteer work—sometimes pursued with great dedication—that fill their time and energy but also give them strength and fulfillment. These people lead fulfilling lives that go far beyond just work.
