In Brandenburg, the list of things and events permitted under COVID-19 has now become significantly longer than the list of prohibitions issued by the state government in the course of the Corona pandemic. Among the things now permitted again are events held outdoors and indoors.
Are private celebrations permitted in Brandenburg?
Yes. Everything that is not a large-scale event is permitted again in Brandenburg.
On 12 June, the Brandenburg state government decided on far-reaching relaxations. This means that restrictions on public and private events have also been lifted. The previous rules for events with up to 1,000 participants that are not classified as large-scale events no longer apply. This also applies to church services or concerts. However, in enclosed spaces, fresh air must be ensured and participants must be recorded.
Which events are not prohibited in Brandenburg?
Large-scale events in Brandenburg remain prohibited. In addition, organisers of all celebrations and events must ensure that participants maintain a minimum distance of 1.5 metres.
How many participants are permitted at events in Brandenburg?
Up to 1,000 participants may attend celebrations. There is no longer an upper limit for gatherings such as demonstrations. The state cabinet has amended the Large-Scale Event Prohibition Ordinance. It now states that the ban on large-scale events with more than 1,000 people present simultaneously does not apply to gatherings as defined in the Assembly Act.
The AHA rules still apply in Brandenburg
These stand for Abstand (distance), Hygiene (hygiene) and Atemschutz (face covering).

Distance: The minimum distance of 1.5 metres from other people must continue to be maintained. However, there are exceptions to this rule: these include areas of health care and nursing, as well as the distancing requirements in day-care centres and schools, at hairdressers or where space is limited, for example in buses, trains or cars.
Hygiene: Although not explicitly mentioned, frequent and thorough handwashing continues to be important in order to avoid possible smear infections.
Face covering: This refers to the mandatory wearing of masks.
