Two years ago, people looked in disbelief to Italy. The first European country imposed a lockdown. At the time, no one really knew what that meant or if they were serious. Within days, we realized Italy wasn’t alone—our own anxiety rose with the infections. Images of coffins being transported in military convoys from hospitals were something no one here wanted to see.
